Falkenberg is a summer city, full of activities, festivals and music. Best known perhaps the city, and the regions around it, nonetheless is for its long, beautiful beaches and scenic, sea-bathing.

Beach & Sea

From the cottage you have about 10 minutes by car to the sea and there are several beaches to choose from.

• Skrea Beach – 2.5 km south of Falkenberg. Dog bath available.
• Hansagård / Ringsegård – 4.5 km south of Falkenberg (you are allowed to have a car on the beach).
• Långasand – 16 km south of Falkenberg.
• Ugglarp – 19 km south of Falkenberg. Dog bath available.
• Stensjöstrand – 23 km south of Falkenberg. Most rocks but also sand. Nature reserve.

Inland lakes & Poolbad

Nearby, about 10-15 minutes by car, there are also three lakes with bathing area for those who prefer it to the sea: Nyhagasjön, Ljungsjön and Sjönevadssjön.

In Falkenberg you also will find Klitterbadet, with one of the few 50-meter pools and the only salt water pool  in Sweden. Outdoor pool are also available in Vessigebro.

Bike, Hike & Paddle

The cottage has 4 bikes to borrow – and the opportunities for cycling in the surrounding regions are large. Several excellent biking trails, including Southern coastal tour is nearby.
Do you like to hike, there are numerous hiking trails, such as Pilgrim Halland and Halland trail, and nature reserves in the area.
Canoeing opportunities in Falkenberg ant the neighborhood is good. Thenearest paddle  waters of the cottage is Suseån, a winding pearl. At Suseån orifice you will find a fine sandy beach and Vesslunda Nature Reserve.

Golf

For those of you who like to play golf, there are many golf courses to choose from in Falkenberg, Varberg and Halmstad.

Shopping

The shopping paradise Ullared with Gekas is located about 25 minutes away by car. To while away a day or two there is no art if you like to shop. Shopping facilities are also in Falkenberg, Halmstad and Varberg.

Other activities

There is opportunity to ride on the Bison Safari or Öströö fårfarms lamb safari, visiting Svedinos Car and airplanemuseum.  In the PArk area Vallarna in town, there are both animals to look at, a lovely playground and a parkour park to try. Halmstad has several children’s activities such as Arosfortet, Busfabriken and Halmstad Adventure Land and towards Varberg are Himle Adventure Land and the old castle Varbergs Fästning to explore.  Fishing in Ätran or go on a sea fishing trip it is also nice to try out. Nearby the cottage there are also old, grade II listed stone monuments to explore.
